This perpetual calendar is presented in a 42mm case made of polished/satin-finished stainless steel. Like all the watches in the Senator Excellence line, this new variant was designed with the highest demands on suitablilty for everyday use, durability and timeless aesthetics. The sapphire crystal case back provides an unobstructed view of the finely finished automatic movement. The timepiece is optionally equipped with a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap, a robust blue synthetic strap or a stainless steel bracelet. The perpetual calendar is considered one of the most sophisticated complications in the art of watchmaking. Its ingenious mechanism bears witness to the expertise, dexterity and passion of its developers: the calendar function represents the correct relationship between the date, day of the week and leap year until the secular year 2100. With the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar, Glashutte Original gives this tradition-steeped complication a particularly contemporary face. On the grey galvanised dial, the Panorama Date as well as the weekday and month windows are subtly set off by small frames. The leap years are visualised with the help of separate display below 12 o'clock. The Roman numerals in solid gold are coated in blue while the hour and minute hands in steel are traditionally blued. The applied numerals are the fine graining of the dial surface give the model a classically elegant face full of contrasts and visual depth. The manufactory calibre 26-12 has an oscillating system with an antimagnetic silicon hairspring: the rate is regulated by means of 4 regulating screws. The optimised spring barrel offers a power reserve of 100 hours at a frequency of 4 hertz. Like all Senator Excellence models, this exquisite mechanical timepiece bears a special engraving in the form of a "Q". This symbolises a particularly high standard quality, which is confirmed by an individual test certificate.
