When launching the new Epic X collection in 2016, Jacob & Co. ventured into a new direction, with new shapes, new material and a new frame of mind. The inspiration of the design came from the letter X, which symbolizes something unknown, mysterious and appealing, reflecting the energy of the brand at the time. Epic X Bridges is a sleek and sophisticated evolution of that original design. Epic X Bridges is Jacob & Co.'s quintessential sports luxury timepiece. Epic X Bridges is the combination of a staple of watchmaking, the skeleton watch, and the radical design approach of Jacob & Co. As a result, Epic X Bridges unites the inside and the outside, the movement and the 44-mm case. The bezel is smooth and polished, with a steeper angle. The X-shaped lugs are full and flush, with angular and vertical tips. The four lugs are a true Epic X Bridges signature. Their shape, inclination and edges are a continuation of the exclusive skeleton movement. Transparency, color and innovation, three of Jacob & Co.'s design guidelines, are gathered in Epic X Bridges. Caliber JCAM45 was specifically developed for Epic X Bridges. With 158 components, it offers maximum transparency thanks to its skeletonized form. All the components that should be full are hollowed out. Instead of a mainplate, the entire movement is suspended on two vertical bridges, where every visible component has a double function: technical and aesthetic. The structure becomes the shape, the design and the identity of Epic X Bridges. Functionally, it is an hour and minute movement. In spirit, its skeleton structure follows the X rule. It is light, technical and revolves entirely around its shape. Caliber JCAM45 receives surface finishings that serve its skeleton structure and the elegant purpose of Epic X Bridges. The beveling of the components is everywhere, enhancing the structure and revealing it with brilliant and matte edges.
