The Nautilus was designed by legendary watchmaker Gerald Genta and launched in 1976. It quickly became a classic and was one of the pioneering watches to feature Jaeger-LeCoultre’s famed 920 calibre. Until, that is, Patek Philippe started manufacturing its own movements. This Nautilus 5980 features an unusual chronograph complication that displays both minutes and hours on a single “monocounter” at 6 o'clock and is among one of the most sought after watches around, after being discontinued in 2014.
