Seiko Prospex Alpinist in ‘Summit Black’ From the Alpinist collection, first launched in 1959, these watches were designed for Japanese ‘Yama-otoko’ mountain men, to be reliable in treacherous terrain. The 'Mountain Device' logo features on the caseback of these watches, an aspect of the vintage original indicating the field nature of the watch. The case has an applied super-hard coating for increased scratch resistance and shine. With the additional crown at the 4 o’clock position you can adjust the internal dial rings useful compass function and is a nod to the Alpinist’s exploration heritage from 1959.
