Zenith first used the Defy name on the dial of a 19th-century pocket watch—albeit with a slightly different spelling (“Defi”)—and it later appeared on a line of 1970s sports watches. These days, the collection is made up of colourful chronograph and dive models boasting integrated bracelets or straps. They’re among the brand’s most futuristic-looking timepieces, often made as limited editions in collaboration with pioneers in their field like the techno DJ Carl Cox or, as in the case of this Defy Extreme, Argentine-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone. It's equipped with Zenith’s high-frequency movement, the El Primero 9004, able to record up to 100th of a second. The vibrant colours on the dial are also found on the iridescent star-shaped winding rotor, viewable through the caseback. Only 100 pieces of this watch were produced.
